The artistic works created by the painter Unutur from the west Turkish province Canakkale with the leaves of the Dieffenbachia plant attract attention all over the world.

Stating that she gets the plants from the Netherlands, she dries their leaves for two years with a special method, after which they become a consistency like that of paper. Unutur says that especially the works with motifs and animal figures representing three religions, Christianity, Islam and Judaism, are appreciated by local and foreign tourists coming to the region.

Queen Elizabeth and Queen Sophia of Spain were among those who bought pieces of her works. After designing the product, it would take her about two to three months to create the finished work. She’d prepare her own mixtures and colours, and use 22 carat gold.
