Diamond Jubilee Celebration: SAC Vice Chairman attended 75th Signal Corps Day

The Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander In Chief of the Defense Services Commander In Chief (Army) Vice Senior General Soe Win graced the celebration of 75th Anniversary of Myanmar Signal Corps Day held at the Hsinphyushin Hall of the Transit Camp in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 5th February.

Along with the Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander In Chief of the Defense Services Commander In Chief (Army), SAC members, Union Ministers, Senior Tatmadaw Officials from the Office of the Commander In Chief, Commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, retired Senior Officials of Myanmar Signal Corps, officials and invited guests.

First, the Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy, Air) General Maung Maung Aye, Commander Maj-Gen Saw Than Hlaing, Director of the Directorate of Signal Maj-Gen Tun Tun Oo opened the ceremony of 75th Anniversary of Myanmar Signal Corps Day celebration by cutting the ceremonial ribbon.

Next, the Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander In Chief of the Defense Services Commander In Chief (Army) opened the signboard in commemorating 75th Anniversary of Myanmar Signal Corps Day by pressing the auto button and posed for the documentary group phto together with the attendees.

In his remark of honor in commemoration of 75th Anniversary of Myanmar Signal Corps Day, this is the auspicious time of the Diamond Jubilee of Myanmar Signal Corps Day which was included as a part in the establishment of Myanma Tatmadaw. Prior to the second world war in 1937, during the independence struggle, Burma Signals was launched with the core of 30 service personnel who attended the signal training in Pakistan.

After Independence in 1948, the Signals Unit was restructured as Signals Training Unit (May Myo) and Signals Training Unit (Mingalardon). Next, the SAC Vice Chairman related the struggles of the Signals Unit during the internal armed insurgency around 1949 and the history of Signals Corps.

The Signal Corps is paramount important not only for the Tatmadaw but also for the development of the country. As the Fober Optic Network could be established for the first time in Myanmar in 2001, the high momentum development of Information Communication Technology-ICT sector has been received.

Moreover, the Signal Corps is trying hard and establishing to stage Electronic Warfare (EW) which is essential for the modern wars, he added. Next, the Director of the Directorate of Signal Maj-Gen Tun Tun Oo clarified the briefd history of Signal Corps and a documentary video in commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of Myanmar Signal Corps Day was screened.

Then, the members of Signal Corps Unit presented a song honoring the 75th Anniversary of Myanmar Signal Corps Day. Afterward, the Director of the Directorate of Signal presented memorable gift to the Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Commander In Chief of Defense Services Commander In Chief (Army) in commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of Myanmar Signal Corps Day.

Later, the Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Commander In Chief of Defense Services Commander In Chief (Army) cordially greeted the retired Senior officials of the Signal Corps and viewed round the exhibition booths diaplayed in commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of Myanmar Signal Corps Day.
