Development Works: Opening of Staff Housing and Purified Drinking Water Factory

In observance of the 78th Anniversary Union Day, the Kachin State Auditor-General Office inaugurated a new three-story staff housing building in Myitkyina on February 7.

Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, the Chief Justice of the State High Court, state ministers and other officials attended the event and cut the ceremonial ribbon, marking the occasion. The Chief Minister and officials then conducted a tour of the facility to assess the design and layout of the staff accommodations.

The construction of the three-story building was funded by the state government, totaling 396.6 million kyats for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.

On a separate occasion, the Chief Minister held a coordination meeting with state ministers and relevant officials at the State Government Office to discuss the progress of oil crop harvests and ensure food security in the state. The Chief Minister emphasized the need to meet targeted yields for the region to achieve oil self-sufficiency.

The meeting also covered reports on the monsoon paddy harvest status, the monsoon paddy harvest, food security plans in Putao and Tanai, oil crop production for 2024-2025, and strategies for expanding oilseed acreage and achieving self-sufficiency in five years.

The Chief Minister coordinated the needs based on the reports. The Chief Minister and party later attended the inauguration of "Aw Le Le" purified drinking water factory in Tatkone (Sanpya) Ward. The event featured the ceremonial ribbon cutting and unveiling of the building's signboard.

The Chief Minister and party later toured the factory and observed the production process.
