Development Works: Meeting in Mawlamyine and inspection tour

Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with the departmental personnel and townselders in Mawlamyine of Mon State on Sunday.

Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein provided update reports on agriculture, industry, marine products, MSME development, education promotion, healthcare services and election preparation process. The attendees also reported on the needs for power distribution, tourism industry, extended cultivation of crops for seed production and rubber plantations, livestock sector and loan disbursement. The Chief Minister elaborated on the reports and the Union Minister explained the work implementations.

The Acting President discussed that Mon State is a place with better economy, possessing various destinations to attract local and foreign tourists. He also outlined the plans to upgrade public infrastructures and transportation facilities. However, the development efforts have been hindered by the destructive acts of terrorists. He stressed the needs to strive for development of agriculture, education, livestock breeding, production and human resource development. He pledged to eradicate the online scam and online gambling while combating the illegal trade activities along the border areas. He called for cooperation of local community in an effort for development of the state.

After the meeting, the Acting President viewed the display of MSME products and gave necessary instructions. They later visited the Yamanya Sports Ground and heard reports on construction of Students' Sports Ground, plans for Youth Center and construction of Sports Garden.

The Acting President instructed for long term benefits of the facilities, meeting the set standards. They then inspected around the sports ground. The Acting President and party then took tour around  Mawlamyine Education Degree College by a motorcade.
