Development Works: Infrastructure development efforts in Kengtung Township

Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Zaw Aye, accompanied by State Ministers and departmental officials, visited the farms around Kengtung Township on Thursday morning and observed the rice cultivation and the winter farming crops including potato, beans, corn and turnip.

The Chief Minister and party then cordially met and encouraged the farmers. Then, they proceeded to commercial poultry farm in Loilong village and the farm officials gave a brief report. Later, the Chief Minister oversaw the construction of the new Keng Phaung bridge on the Taunggyi-Kengtung road.

And, the Chief Minister inspected Kengtung temporary terminal, warmly met with the drivers and inquired about the commodity flow and traffic conditions. Next, the Chief Minister inspected the completion status of the concrete paving works of Yat Taw Mu Road being implemented by the Kengtung Township Development Affairs Committee.

In the afternoon on the same day, the Chief Minister, accompanied by Commander of the Triangle Region Command General Aung Khaing Win, attended a meeting with the members of the war veterans organization of Shan State (East).

During the meeting, the Chief Minister and the Commander gave speeches respectively, coordinated the needs upon the reports of the veterans and provided supplies and cash assistance. And, they visited the basic literacy training courses being conducted by the Ministry of Education in Kengiung Township and provided cash assistance.
