Development Trip: State Counsellor Inspects Yazagyo Dam

State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi inspected Yazagyo Dam in Kale Township of Sagaing Region on Tuesday. Dam Working Process was explained to the State Counsellor. Built on Nerinzara  Creek near Yazagyo Village, the Yazagyo Dam reduces floods, irrigates crops and generates hydropower for local electricity consumption.

The State Counsellor continued her trip to Hakhalay (North) Village in Tonzang Township of Chin State. She visited the houses constructed in the village under the arrangement by Daw Khin Kyi Foundation and met with the locals.

The State Counsellor pledged to fulfill requirements for water and electricity access, transportation, health and education sectors. She also stressed that government is for citizens.

The locals reported on requirements and the State Counsellor coordinated. Afterwards, the State Counsellor provided rice and oil for Hakhalay (North) and Hakhalay (South) villages. She also visited Hakhalay (South) Village and the locals greeted with a traditional song performance.

The State Counsellor continued her trip to Kale Township of Sagaing Region and met with the locals. The State Counsellor stressed duties and responsibilities of government and citizens as well as importance of youth and dignity. The locals reported on requirements for the regional development and the State Counsellor made discussion with them. On the same day, the State Counsellor met with Sagaing Region Chief Minister and many other officials to give guidelines for regional development. Afterwards, the State Counsellor continued her trip and arrived back in Nay Pyi Taw.
