






Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung visited the Institute of Sports and Physical Education in Taunggyi on February 7. He inspected the canteen, clinic, library and dormitories.
During the inspection, the Union Minister emphasized hygiene, cleanliness, food standards, daily food inspections, efficient office work, improved clinic services and a well-stocked library. He instructed the principal and officials to conduct daily dormitory inspections and maintain records.
The Union Minister then met with the principal and sport supervisors at the meeting hall. He also stressed the need for qualified staff, systematic use of government funds in compliance with financial regulations and adherence to laws and bylaws. He urged all staff to diligently contribute to the Union-building process based on democracy and federalism.
The Union Minister later inspected Taekwondo, Judo, football, track and field, boxing and swimming training at the respective sports stadiums. He emphasized the importance of systematic training to establish strong sports fundamentals.
He also instructed all officials to understand the basic principles of each sports and set exemplary standards in their work. In the 2024-2025 academic year, the Institute of Sports and Physical Education (Taunggyi) is offering 7 sports programs with 159 trainees.
