Development of payment services for overseas visitors to China

As China has kept optimizing payment services, foreign visitors can now easily travel and do business in the country by using a variety of payment methods, ranging from cards, cash, and mobile payments. Overseas bank cards are widely accepted at airports, hotels, and major shopping centers.

In June alone, payments made with overseas cards in China reached 1.61 million transactions, totaling around 400 million U.S. dollars, doubled compared to the payment amount of February, before the country’s State Council released the guide to optimize payment services for overseas visitors to China in early March.
