Development funds handed over: Shan State CM handed over development funds

The Shan State (North) Department of Rural Development handed over Rural Development Fund for 2022-2023 fiscal year at Lashio Township, Township Hall in the morning on August 26.

At the event, Shan State Chief Minister Dr. Kyaw Tun said a total of 24.9 billion Kyats from the Union Fund and 90 Million Kyats from the Shan State Fund for totaling 241 villages including 5 units of green village project, 6 units of green village project (edible oil crop), village development project for 207 villages, Cash For Work project for 20 villages, rural economic development fund establishment project for 3 villages will be handed over. For a total of 678 villages across the state, totaling 73.3 billion Kyats including 71.5 billion Kyats from the Union Fund and 1.8 billion Kyats from the state fund have been handed over.

Next, the chief minister added the regional development works to be implemented including construction of roads and bridges, drinking water supply, rural electricity supply etc.

Then, the head officer of Shan State (North) Department of Rural Development U Zaw Myint Tun clarified the projects to be implemented. Afterward, the Chief Minister Dr. Kyaw Tun handed over development funds of 20.5 billion Kyats to the Chairpersons of Shan State (North) sub-state administration council, Wa Self-Administered Division, Kokang Self-Administered Zone, Palaung Self-Administered Division, state ministers and commander of north-east command for the development projects.

Next, the chief minister, commander, state ministers and officials visited Hsin Shwe Li Home for the aged and the cash donations were provided including one million by the Shan State Government, 4.329 million Kyats by the department of social welfare, one million Kyats by commander of north-east command Ma-J Naing Naing Oo, state minister for social affairs U Aung Myint, chairman of Kokang Self-Administered Zone U Myint Swe and the responsible official from the home for the age accepted the donations.

Then, the chief minister and party viewed the giving healthcare for the older persons, preparations of rooms for undertaking the medical treatment and enjoying lunch by the older persons. There are 9 men older persons and 19 women older persons in Hsin Shwe Li Home for the aged, it’s reported.
