Desparetely seeking Lopez Obrador, Mexicans call on next president for help

11 July 2018

Crowds of Mexicans gather daily outside the party headquarters of leftist president-elect Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. They sought a meeting with the country's next leader for his personal intervention on a range of problems from justice to jobs.  Lopez Obrador rallied millions of Mexicans to back his calls for change in Mexico in this month's election.

He vowed to stamp out corruption and reign in crime in a new era of a more just country. According to reports, dozens of citizens arrive daily at Lopez Obrador's officers in search of an audience. From vowing to raise pensions and financially support students, Lopez Obrador will carry high expectations when his term starts in December.
