Deportation Process: Crackdown on online fraud cases

Efforts are intensified to expose and deport the foreign nationals who entered Myanmar illegally via border areas and engaged in online fraud, online gambling and unlawful acts at Myawaddy-Shwe Kokko and KK Park area.

On 22nd February, a total of 126 illegal foreign nationals were detained and the necessary records and resumes of the detained foreign nationals were compiled in order to deport them to their respective countries promptly. From 30th January to 22nd February 2025, a total of 2,111 foreign nationals who entered Myanmar illegally were identified.

Among them, 673 have already been deported to their respective countries via Thailand in line with the laws and procedures, and the rest of the detainees are ready to be deported to their respective countries. Those detained immigrants include citizens of China, Indonesia, Viet Nam, Malaysia, Pakistan, India, Uganda, Ethiopia, Nepal, Thailand, Rwanda, Kenya, Kazakhstan, Cambodia and Chinese (Taipei).
