Deportation Process: Crackdown on online fraud cases

Efforts are intensified to expose and deport the foreign nationals who entered Myanmar illegally via border areas and engaged in online fraud, online gambling and unlawful acts at Myawaddy-Shwe Kokko and KK Park area.

On 21st February, a total of 222 illegal foreign nationals were detained and the necessary records and resumes of the detained foreign nationals were compiled in order to deport them to their respective countries promptly.

The Deputy Police Chief, Police Major General Tin Ko Ko inspected the data compiling processes and stressed on data accuracy, convenience of the detained foreign nationals and timely completion of the deportation process. From 30th January to 21st February 2025, a total of 1,985 foreign nationals who entered Myanmar illegally were identified. Among them, 561 have already been deported to their respective countries via Thailand in line with the laws and procedures, and the rest of the detainees are ready to be deported to their respective countries.
