Deportation Process: 300 detained Chinese citizens deported via Thailand

The government is making exerted efforts to eliminate online scam and online gambling which have been on the rise in border areas and to extradite the detained illegal foreign nationals who engaged in the unlawful cases with the collaboration of neighboring countries and international organizations especially the Trilateral Cooperation among Myanmar, China and Thailand.

On 21st February, a total of 300 detained Chinese citizens who engaged in online fraud, online gambling and unlawful acts at Myawaddy-Shwe Kokko and KK Park area were extradited to China through Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge-2 in line with the existing laws and procedures.

According to the confession of the detained Chinese citizens, most of them first traveled to neighboring countries to enter Myanmar illegally. Then, they were sent to Myawaddy-KK Park area to do online fraud and online gambling against their will.

At present, the government is intensifying efforts to expose and take action against the foreign nationals who are engaging in online scam center activities and taking control on unlawful acts as well as to extradite the trafficked foreign nationals to their respective countries promptly.
