Delhi Police issues travel advisory after car blast

In the wake of the Red Fort car blast, Delhi Police has issued a travel advisory urging passengers to reach their destinations well in advance.

Those travelling by train are advised to reach at least one hour before departure, while metro commuters should arrive 20 minutes prior to their train’s schedule.  International flight passengers are recommended to reach the airport at least three hours ahead of departure.

The move came as security in the national capital is tightened to prevent disruptions and ensure passenger safety. On Monday evening, a powerful explosion ripped through a slow-moving car near the Red Fort area, killing 13 people and injuring several. The entire area has been sealed for investigation.The Red Fort metro station remains closed, as forensic and anti-sabotage teams continue combing the area.
