Defense ministers hold urgent meeting on Ecuador

Foreign, Interior and Defense Ministers of Andean countries held an urgent meeting on Sunday to discuss the problem of cross-border drug crime that has plunged Ecuador in a major security crisis.

The meeting focused on ways to confront transnational crime. Andean nations Peru, Colombia and Bolivia to launch a new security network, with the deal reached at an emergency meeting held as the region watches bloodshed spiral in once-peaceful Ecuador.
