Debunking False Claims : Fake news on local arrests in Dawei and Myeik on November 26th

In response to recent viral social media posts, local authorities have refuted claims suggesting that 30 individuals were arrested by security forces in Kyet Sar Pyin  Ward, Saw Mi Nyo Street, and Customs Jetty of Dawei on November 26th.

The reports further allege ongoing indiscriminate arrests of civilians without proper interrogation in Myeik and Dawei. Contrary to these assertions, an official serving in the specified area has denied the accuracy of the news. According to the official, security forces were not deployed in the mentioned locations on November 26th.

The misinformation, propagated by illegitimate and potentially harmful media outlets, appears to have been disseminated with the explicit intent of destabilizing the state and creating unwarranted distrust in the actions of the security forces among the public.
