The United Arab Emirates Minister of Economy stated Friday that the UAE and Türkiye are aiming to more than double non-oil trade between the two countries in the next five years, to reach $40 billion dollars.

Speaking in Dubai, ministers from the two nations announced a new trade agreement which would reduce or cancel custom duties on 93% of non-oil bilateral trade and create tens of thousands of jobs.

The Turkish Minister for Trade Mohamed Mus said the agreement would carry trade and economic relations into a "new dimension" between the two countries. The agreement comes as Türkiye faces a massive rebuilding challenge after a series of powerful earthquakes killed tens of thousands of people.
