Daytime Balloon Releasing: 2023 Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Hot-Air Balloon Festival

The 2023 Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Hot-Air Balloon Festival entered its second day on the afternoon of November 22nd, featuring a daytime hot-air balloon releasing competition at Ahwaiya hot-air balloon ground. Local participants enthusiastically launched hot-air balloons of various shapes, depicting animals such as chickens, doves, ducks, birds, elephants, and pigs.

The community celebrated the success of the daytime balloon releases with traditional dances. As part of this year's festival, plans are in motion to release NyaMeeGyi and Seinnapan hot-air balloons at night. Additionally, traditional activities, including weaving non-stale robes to offer to Buddha and a lighting procession, will be carried out.

The highlight of the Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Hot-Air Balloon Festival this year is the judging process for the winner teams. Judges will contribute 50 percent of the final decision, while the remaining 50 percent will be determined through an SMS voting system.
