The Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing declared the national mourning period on March 31.
In the declaration of national mourning period, it’s mentioned that in solemn remembrance of the devastating 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar on 28 March 2025 at 12:51:02 PM (Myanmar Standard Time), resulting in tragic loss of life and widespread destruction, the State Administration Council has declared a seven-day national mourning period from 31st March to 6th April 2025.
During this period, the national flag shall be flown at half-mast across the country as a mark of respect for the victims. The people of Myanmar are called upon to stand in solidarity and honor the memory of those affected by this catastrophic disaster. The declaration was signed by the Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
