Damages of Ancient Buildings: Heavy rain in Nyaung-U affects ancient temples

Due to heavy rain in Nyaung-U Township of Mandalay Region on 12th September, 9 historical buildings in Bagan Archeological Zone have been affected, including Shwezigon Pagoda, Thatbyinnyu Temple and Hteelominlo Temple.

According to the officials from the Department of Archeology and National Museum, currently, the affected buildings are being monitored and plans have been made to conduct renovation works under the set guidelines and procedures.
