Damage Assessment: Infrastructure damages in Nay Pyi Taw and Taungoo

Union Minister for Industry, Dr. Charlie Than visited Taung Phi La cement plant which was damaged by the powerful earthquake in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory and inspected the damaged areas of the plant.

Highlighting the crucial role of cement plants in rehabilitation and reconstruction process, the Union Minister instructed on reoperation of the plant promptly, provision of requisite machine and equipment, and installation of danger signboards in the areas which need to be renovated.

Then, the Union Minister proceeded to Taungoo District Directorate of Industrial Supervision and Inspection, inspected the damaged office buildings and met with the staff. There, the Union Minister instructed on reoperation of the office and thorough inspection on damaged MSME enterprises and necessary assistance provision.

The Union Minister also urged the staff to be aware of the disaster statements issued by National Disaster Management Committee and provided cash assistance. Then, the Union Minister inspected the damaged buildings and infrastructures within Taungoo Township.
