Dam bursts, several swept away

On Saturday night, a mountain reservoir in TuyPhong commune in Viet Nam burst, sending torrents of water cascading into nearby residential areas and sweeping several people away. Local residents reported that at least three people were carried off by the floodwaters, including a 13-year-old girl.

Over the past few days, TuyPhong and other upstream areas of LâmĐồng have experienced heavy rainfall. Large volumes of water have flowed into local rivers and reservoirs, forcing the Phan Dũng and LòngSông reservoirs to release floodwaters to ensure safety.
