

According to the observations at 12:30 pm M.S.T on Sunday by the Meteorology and Hydrology Department, the Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm “MOCHA” over Northeast Bay and adjoining East Central Bay of Bengal has moved Northeastwards and centered at about (30) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Sittwe,(50) Nautical miles South of Maungdaw, (80) Nautical miles Northwest of Kyaukpyu, (100) Nautical miles Northwest of Manaung,and (85) Nautical miles Southof Cox’s Bazar (Bangladesh).
It is crossing Rakhine Coast, near Sittwe (Myanmar), the present stage of MOCHA is coded brown stage. It is likely continue to move North-Northeastwards and the center of cyclonic storm is crossing between Cox’s Bazar (Bangladesh) and Kyaukphyu (Myanmar) near Sittwe (Myanmar) as Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm.
Thereafter, it is likely to move North-Northeastwards towards Chin State and Magway Region as a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm, towards Sagaing Region as a Cyclonic Storm and towards Kachin State as a deep land depression.
