Cyclone affected Rakhine State: Meeting on healthcare services and renovation of buildings

Led by Union Minister for Health Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win, a coordination meeting on healthcare services and repairing buildings in cyclone affected Rakhine State on Monday.

At the meeting, the union minister said that it was found that the hospitals are trying the best to provide medical services when he made inspection tours to hospitals and healthcare centers during a trip to the Rakhine state together with the Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council.

He said necessary assistance will be provided for the completion of remaining tasks and preparing damaged buildings as quickly as possible.

The activities would be carried out in accordance with the guidance of Head of State and in repairing the buildings, it needs to renovate basic infrastructures to be better than original ones and to become cyclone resistant buildings.

He continued to say that the Ministry is fulfilling necessary hospital supplies, the number of health staffs and other needs by setting short and long term plans. He stressed on extension of patient wards, fulfilling medicines and medical equipment, sanitation tasks to prevent from infectious disease at the hospitals and measures for good characteristic of hospitals.

Then, the heads of Public Health and Medical Services departments from Rakhine State reported work implementations and the Union Minister, deputy minister and director general supplemented on the reports.
