





The Chilean government has called for a night curfew starting in the first hours of Friday in the three most affected regions by wildfires that have devastated more than 340,000 hectares, killing 24 people. President Gabriel Boric said the curfew in effect in Ñuble, Biobío and La Araucanía regions "has given greater security to people who need it."
Thirty people have been arrested as suspects for starting fires, and a forensics team will determine if these fires were intentional. More than 200 towns have been evacuated to keep thousands of residents out of the flames' reach. Spanish Mexican, Argentine, Brazilian, Ecuadorean, Peruvian and Venezuelan crews are contributing with teams of experts to help fight the fires.
