China-Myanmar Culture Week has been held in Myanmar from January 17th to 21st.
As part of the activity, a Chinese TV Series was handed over to Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) in Nay Pyi Taw Tatkone on Thursday.
China’s Yunnan Media Group handed over the TV Series “You are My Eyes” to be broadcast on MRTV.
MRTV has been cooperating with Yunnan Media Group for joint production of TV programs, and the two sides planned to commence the production of Southern Silk Road Documentary Program soon. The Southern Silk Road extends from Chengdu, then crosses Yunnan Province and reaches Myanmar from where it leads to India and Central Asia.
Director General, Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV), Myint Htwe said “We planned to produce Southern Silk Road Program. It’s been arranged since two years ago. The program shooting will begin on Myanmar side very soon. It will be co-produced by MRTV and Yunnan Media Group. It will be a documentary program about the road sections in Myanmar that are parts of Southern Silk Road.”
MRTV’s Director General added that further cooperation will be made for promoting bilateral relations between the two people and enhancing the cultural exchange programs.
Director General, Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV), Myint Htwe said “Since the two countries are adjacent to each border, there are cultural interconnections and the same ethnic groups reside in both sides of border. If we can make joint production about the cultural connectivity in border areas in news stories and programs, it could bring benefits for both countries. We will make further discussions with Yunnan Media Group for strengthening cooperation.”
The ceremony also included a Photo Show which displays the documentary photos of poverty reduction activities in China. The photos portray the strenuous efforts of locals in least developed regions. This kind of Photo Show has also been exhibited at UN Headquarters in New York.
