Cuban Santeria practitioners make 2022 predictions

Cuban religious leaders of Santeria predicted a 2022 filled with hope but also expressed their concern for what they say will be a sharpening of diseases and violence. At least two important "babalawos," as priests of this denomination are known, released on Sunday their "Letter of the Year" where they provided their joint predictions for the next 12 months.

According to the Organizing Commission of the Letter of the Year, the sign of the year 2022 will be "Obe Juani" and the deity or orisha ruling is Obatala accompanied by Oshun.The prediction warned about cardiovascular or pulmonary disorders, and it recommended that society in general keep their homes clean, promoted the use of medicinal plants, and said that governments should favor construction of infrastructure, such as housing, hospitals and cemeteries, among other things.
