Cuban government confirms CIA chief's visit to Havana

The Cuban government announced on Thursday that John Ratcliffe, director of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) had visited Havana and held meetings with Cuban officials.

According to a statement from the Cuban government, the visit was arranged at the request of the U.S. government.

The meeting took place against the backdrop of complex bilateral relations, with the goal of promoting political dialogue and addressing the current situation between the two countries.

During the talks, both sides expressed willingness to strengthen cooperation in law enforcement, according to the statement.
