Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong met in Hanoi to mark the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Viet Nam.

The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral ties, building on the historic friendship established by Ho Chi Minh and Fidel Castro. They agreed to strengthen high-level meetings, implement existing agreements, enhance cooperation mechanisms, and continue coordination in international and multilateral forums. Diaz-Canel, whose visit follows Cuba’s longstanding commercial partnership with Vietnam, is set to continue his regional tour in China and Laos.

The leaders also highlighted plans to expand exchanges between political, social, and business organisations, and to educate younger generations about the Viet Nam–Cuba relationship.
