Crackdown on Online Scams: Efforts to eradicate online fraud cases

The government is expediting the investigations to eliminate telecom fraud and unlawful acts in collaboration with neighboring countries and international communities.

On 25th March, a total of 207 foreign nationals including 176 Filipino, 24 Malaysians, 4 Nepalese and 3 Cambodians were deported to their respective countries via Myanmar-Thailand No.2 Friendship Bridge in line with the existing laws and procedures upholding humanity and friendly relations between nations.

At present, efforts are intensified to expose the illegal foreign nationals who are in control of online scam center businesses while effective actions are being taken against the suspects. Likewise, tasks are undertaking to promptly deport the foreign nationals who are forced to engage in online frauds and online gambling against their will.
