Crackdown on Online Frauds: 160 illegal immigrants have been detained on Sunday

A total of 160 illegal immigrants have been detained on Sunday due to illegal entering to Myawady-Mae Htaw Thalay area.

The government is making efforts to eradicate online gambling and online fraud cases in border areas in cooperation with international organizations and local community. Officials conducted necessary measures to collect their personal information and records to expedite deportation to their respective countries.

From 30th January, to 23rd March, 2025, a total of 8,202 foreign nationals who illegally entered Myanmar were identified and detained. Of these, 5,147 have been systematically transferred to their respective countries via Thailand in accordance with legal procedures.
