COVID cases rising in Peru, health min. comments

Peruvian authorities on Thursday announced an increase in COVID-19 cases reported which they labeled as a fifth outbreak in the country. Authorities are also evaluating bringing back enforcement of the mandatory use of masks in public places to reduce the spread of the virus.

Peru Health Minister said that the healthcare services are in place to face a possible scenario and call for people to continue their vaccination plan. Peru has reported 217.000 deaths since the start of the outbreak in 2020.
