Covid-19 Update: Ministry Reports 23 New Covid-19 Cases At 8:00 A.M. On 19th June

Ministry of Health and Sports at 8:00 a.m. on Friday reported 23 new COVID-19 cases after testing 763 lab specimens. The new confirmed patients are the returnees from Malaysia and Thailand­­.

They are residents of Thar-Paung Township of Ayeyarwady Region, Kawtkaraik Township, Kayin State, Myeik, Dawei and Kawt-Thaung Townships of Taninthayi Region, Yay, Than-Phyu-Zayat, ChaungSon, ThaHton Townships of Mon State, KyaukTaw, PaukTaw and Mrauk-U Townships of Rakhine State, Oak-Pho Township of Bago Region, Kyauk-Pa-Daung Township of Mandalay Region and Hlegu Township of Yangon Region.

COVID-19 cases in Myanmar have now reached 286 with 6 deaths.

While 187 patients have recovered from the disease, 172 of them have been discharged from the hospitals and put under quarantine.

The World’s worst-hit countries are United States of America, Brazil, Russian Federation, India, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Peru, Chile, Islamist Republic of Iran, Germany and Turkey according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 4:57pm CEST, 18th June 2020, there have been over 8.2 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 445,535 deaths, reported to WHO.

Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. 

Older people and those with underlying medical problems are more likely to develop serious illness.
