Covid-19 Update: 647 New Cases With 22 Deaths At 8 P.M. On Jan. 5

Ministry of Health and Sports reported 647 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Tuesday after testing a total of 19,770 lab specimens within 24 hours, 22 new deaths and 605 patients discharged from the hospitals on 5th January. COVID-19 confirmed cases in Myanmar have reached 127,582 with 2,766 deaths and 110,805 patients discharged from the hospital until 8 p.m. on 5th January.

The World’s worst-hit countries are United States of America, India, Brazil, Russian Federation, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Germany and Colombia, according to the World Health Organization.

Globally, as of 5:47pm CET, 5 January 2021, there have been over 84.47 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 1.84 million deaths, reported to WHO. Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. Older people and those with underlying medical problems are more likely to develop serious illness.
