
The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.
The Ministry reported 44 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Friday after testing 7,267 patients within 24 hours. At the time of the report, there’s no patient who died due to the disease while 24 patients have recovered. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 614,888 with 19,437 deaths and 593,389 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals. Among the 44 new cases, 9 cases are those who come from abroad and the rest 35 cases are the local transmissions, it’s stated.
The World’s worst-hit countries are the United States of America, India, Brazil, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Korea, Italy, Russian Federation, Japan, Turkiye and Spain according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 6:49 pm CEST, 26 August 2022, there have been over 596 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 6.45 million deaths.
