COVID-19 TEST: CARGO TRUCK DRIVERS AND CONDUCTORS TO BE TESTED

Meikhtila Township Vehicle Supervisory Committee is undertaking COVID-19 test to the cargo truck drivers and conductors to pass through the township in order to control the spread of the pandemic disease.

Starting 30th September, COVID-19 test has been conducted to the drivers and conductors, and they are allowed to pass through with the COVID-19 negative certificate.

In doing so, the process has been conducted as fast as possible in order not to slow the commodity flow.
Chairman, Vehicle Supervisory Committee,
Khin Maung Myint said "For the smooth flow of commodity as well as testing the COVID-19 disease, we have checked 44 cargo trucks on 30th September. After receiving the test results, we let the trucks pass through. On 3rd October, we have checked another 33 cargo trucks, and the results will get after two days."

It is learnt that the cargo trucks drivers and conductors who came back from Rakhine State and Yangon have to be quarantined.

Khin Maung Myint said "But for the cargo trucks those came back from Rakhine State and Yangon, they have to go under quarantine process. We have now 350 cargo trucks registered at our committee. We will go through the process for COVID-19 test to the drivers and conductors after two days."

As of 4th October, there are 8 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Meikhitla Township of Mandalay Region, according to the Ministry of Health and Sports.
