Chairperson of National-Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi gave a televised speech on the situation of COVID-19 outbreak.
In her speech on Tuesday, the State Counsellor stressed the number of COVID-19 confirmed patients and deaths are on the increase. She called for cooperation and strict adherence to COVID-19 guidelines to effectively control the disease in Yangon as well since the infection is too quick in the region.
She also highlighted the importance of individual care to prevent from infection and it leads to protection for the community. The State Counsellor also praised the role of volunteers and called for more volunters. She also stressed COVID-19 disease occurrence in Nay Pyi Taw because of connection with Yangon, and the importance of response measures only with precise and suitable ones.
The State Counsellor expressed words of thanks to government employees making efforts during the COVID-19 period. She pointed out that the set rules and regulations have to be followed carefully and the awareness is conducted through newspapers and on TV and also informed to people all times.
She also thanked to the service personnel who are working in the front line. She also invited well-wishers and volunteers for the assistance. She said that if the time is set to spread of the disease, the infection has begun again in the last week of August and now it turns into the third week.
If we contain during this time, the results would be come out in the next one or two weeks. She called for all participation to be free rapidly from this situation. The government will do all the things that should be done and also support sufficiently medicines.
Now, measures are being undertaken to have enough the treatment centers and the volunteers are contributing their efforts in the quarantine centers. She hopes that people will fulfill the needs at the necessary places.
In the conclusion, the State Counsellor called for people to cooperate for the containment and control of COVID-9 that is mainly spreading in Yangon and to solve the problem and challenged with strong determination.
