COVID-19 REPORT: MINISTRY REPORTS 987 NEW COVID-19 CASES AT 8 P.M. ON OCT. 5

Ministry of Health and Sports at 8 p.m. on Monday reported 987 new COVID-19 cases after testing 8,285 lab specimens. 32 COVID-19 patients lost their lives due to the disease while 353 patients have been discharged from hospitals. COVID-19 cases in Myanmar had reached 18,781 with 444 deaths at 8 p.m. on the 5th of October, and 5,548 COVID-19 patients have been discharged so far.

The World’s worst-hit countries are United States of America, India, Brazil, Russian Federation, Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Spain, Mexico and South Africa, according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 3:54pm CEST, 5 October 2020, there have been over 35.1 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 1 million deaths, reported to WHO.

Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment.

Older people and those with underlying medical problems are more likely to develop serious illness.
