COVID-19 REPORT: MINISTRY REPORTS 1,138 NEW COVID-19 CASES AT 8 P.M. ON OCT. 16

Ministry of Health and Sports at 8 p.m. on Friday reported 1,138 new COVID-19 cases after testing 13,510 lab specimens.

34 COVID-19 patients lost their lives due to the disease while 771 patients have been discharged from hospitals. COVID-19 cases in Myanmar had reached 33,488 with 799 deaths at 8 p.m. on the 16th of October, and 15,477 COVID-19 patients have been discharged so far.

Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment.

Older people and those with underlying medical problems are more likely to develop serious illness.
