COVID-19 Prevention: Vaccination Programme Continues In Regions & States

Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Nay Pyi Taw Council area, regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

Residents in 13 townships in northern Shan State, 4 townships in eastern Shan State, 15 townships in Mon and Kayin states, 2 townships in Yangon Region, 26 townships in Ayeyawaddy Region, 7 townships in Rakhine State, 7 districts in Mandalay Region, 1 township in Sagaing Region and 1 township in Bagon Region received the COVID-19 vaccines.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention.

The Ministry of Health purchased millions of COVID-19 vaccines and also accepted millions donated by friendly countries. Also, one million units of vaccines donated by and purchased from Russia will arrive in Myanmar this month.
