COVID-19 prevention and control: MPIE has produced vaccines worth about 55 BIL Kyats

Myanma Pharmaceutical Industrial Enterprise(MPIE) is manufacturing and distributing a variety of COVID-19 vaccines used by Ministry of Health for the prevention and control of COVID-19 disease. 

Since the outbreak of COVID-19,MPIE has produced and distributed about 55 billion kyats of COVID-19vaccine and related medicines for the disease prevention.

Dr.Aung Khaing, Managing Director, MPIE, Ministry of Industry said "We mainly produced and distributed various types of vaccines for COVID-19 disease prevention and Myancopharm vaccines. We already produced about 4.9 million doses ofMyancopharm vaccines and distributed to the Ministry of Health. We also manufacture related medicines against COVID-19 and hand sanitizers as well as the supplements such as iron supplements, vitamins and minerals. It needs to take some time for producing medicines because we buy raw materials, formulate, check quality and test in the laboratory for registration. "

MPIE said they will try to manufacture more COVID vaccines if the Ministry of Health orders to them and they have already manufactured the medicines related to COVID-19 worth about 55 billion kyats.
