As the consequences of new Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak around the world, many countries including Myanmar are facing many problems concerning economy, education, livelihood, employment and many more.
After the latest announcement of the Ministry of Health and Sports, three confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been found in Myanmar as of 25th March.
The spread of virus left many impacts on Myanmar’s economy in some ways. Some factories are being shut down which leads to unemployment problems.
To resolve the problems caused by the consequences of COVID-19, the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population organized a tripartite meeting with the employers and employees in Nay Pyi Taw on 25th March.
Permanent Secretary U Myo Aung said the meeting aimed to solve the problems between employees and employers caused by COVID-19 disease outbreak and prepare necessary measures for the consequences. He added that currently, closure of factories and reduction of workers are increasing and at the same time, unemployment problems are raising across the country especially in Yangon.
The attendances also discussed the cooperation processes with the Government to be stable the employments and a better plan for both employers and employees, it’s learnt.
