COVID-19 Control: Preventive Measures Conducted At Check-Points In Nay Pyi Taw

COVID-19 preventive measures are being conducted to the people who enter Nay Pyi Taw from other regions and states at the entrance gates to Nay Pyi Taw as of 21st August.

Officials record data of the people and conduct temperature screening as part of prevention and containment of the disease.

Deputy Director-General, Public Health Department (Nay Pyi Taw), Dr. MyatWunnaSoe said “We are conducting preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19 disease in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory. We make surveillance and test specimens of suspected patients out of the patients who are receiving medical treatment in the public and private hospitals in Nay Pyi Taw. We have conducted screening of the disease at the entry/exist gates of Nay Pyi Taw since 21st April but temporarily suspended in the first week of July.”

The Deputy Director General of Nay Pyi Taw Public Health Department added that the staffs of concerned departments are conducting preventive measures of the disease at 11 check points in Nay Pyi Taw including airport and railway station.

Deputy Director-General, Public Health Department (Nay Pyi Taw), Dr. MyatWunnaSoe said “On 21st August, stay-at-home order imposed in Sittway in Rakhine State. We conduct temperature screening and checking data of the people to prevent COVID-19 in Nay Pyi Taw. If we find the people who come from Sittway of Rakhine State, they will be put under quarantine for 2 weeks. Medical staffs, administrative staffs, police force members and the Immigration Department are conducting preventive measures at 11 check points including airport and railway station in Nay Pyi Taw.”

Those who enter Nay Pyi Taw from stay-at-home townships will be put 14-day community-based facility quarantine and 7-day home quarantine if they have no inform letter from concerned department. And if they show inform letter, they will conduct 7-day facility quarantine.
