COVID-19 CONTROL: ARRANGEMENTS AT QUARANTINED CENTERS IN HLAINGTHAYA (WEST) TSP.

Hlaingthaya (West) Township in Yangon West District is one of the townships in Yangon Region with large population density.

The local authorities are carrying out the monitoring measures for COVID-19 by setting up the quarantine centers. There are 18 quarantine sites in Hlingthaya (West) Township.

At the quarantine center, opened at No.12 High School in Atwin Padan (အတွင်းပဒံ) Village. 17 people are undergoing the quarantined process at present.

Administrator, Atwin Padan Village, Hlaingthaya (West) Township, Aung Myint Tun said "This quarantine center has been opened since 9th September to accommodate the primary contact persons with COVID-19 patients. There are other quarantine centers in the township, but we made arrangements to open the center here as the township has a large density of population."

The center has accommodated more than 30 people since its opening. Volunteers are also providing necessary assistance for the quarantined people.

Volunteer, Aung Min Tun said "I have been contributing 24-hour service here since the center has opened. There are 12 rooms in this center, including the separate rooms for those suffered Anosmia. We also have private rooms for the families. Over 20 volunteers are working here to provide assistance for the quarantined people."

15 patients from Atwin Padan Village and 4 from other villages, totaling 19 have tested positive for COVID-19 among the quarantined people from the center. 4 of them have already recovered.
