


Public awareness on COVID-19 and sharing health knowledge has been conducted at the markets in Aungmye Thazan Township, Mandalay, Tuesday.
As the COVID-19 is a respiratory disease caused by a new virus and it needs very important to conduct preventive and precautionary measures by individuals.
So far, the awareness program has been conducted at the crowded places like markets, one of the CSOs who took part in the campaign said.
Chairman, Aung San Mandalar Network, Hsan Lwin said “The activity is aimed to share the correct and update information of the coronavirus disease to people. Some people know about the fake and misinformation in regard with the disease. So, we’d like to share the information released by the Government and the Ministry of Health and Sports. We want the people to follow the health instructions and so that we can prevent from the disease.”
Today’s program focused on sharing update information of the disease and cleaning hands with sanitizer. A public expressed his feeling on conducting health awareness at the market.
Aungmye Thazan Township, Thuzar said “We have known that the coronavirus is affecting to the world nations. There are no confirmed cases in Mandalay till now as well as in Myanmar. I think…it needs to make preventive measures and people also take part in the activity on precautionary measures. There are a crowd of people in the markets. I spoke words of thanks for distributing pamphlets and conducting awareness here.”
By conducting this kind of activity at the markets, the health knowledge can be shared to a lot of people and message can be given effectively to them, an official of CSO said. Such kind of program will be conducted in 28 townships of Mandalay Region, led by township CSOs.
