Counter-Terrorism Operation: Tatmadaw recapture Htantalan Township of Chin State

Tatmadaw have recaptured Htantalan Township of Chin State on Sunday evening after conducting a Counter-Terrorism Operation on the CNF/CDF terrorists who entered the township, attacked security forces and departmental staff, arrested and killed the locals and destroyed houses, governmental buildings and bridges.

It’s reported that the terrorists seized the township since 2023 February after launching attacks on the Tatmadaw and Police Force. The Tatmadaw, since August, conducted the operation for 5 times for 90 days, following the Rules of Engagement-ROE.

The terrorists left the township after destroying houses and governmental buildings. After the operation, the Tatmadaw lost some members of the security forces and seized arms and ammunition from the terrorists. It’s found out that the terrorists used religious buildings, schools, hospital and houses as bunkers.

The security forces are now conducting rehabilitation tasks in the township. Likewise, since the 27th of October 2023, the KIA, MNDAA and TNLA have attacked security forces and killed the locals in Lashio, Theinni, Kutkai, Muse, Kyukoat, Monekoe, Hpawnghseng, Kunlong, Chinshwehaw and Laukkai townships areas in the northern and northeastern Shan State.

There are intense exchanges of fire between the Tatmadaw and the KIA, MNDAA and TNLA in the areas till the 29th of October.
