Cotton Industry: MOI Union Minister visits Yamethin Cotton Mill

Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than visited the Cotton Mill in Yamethin Township, Mandalay Region on 26 September to observe the installation of solar panels for the utilization of solar energy, along with the trial operation.

During the inspection, the Union Minister said that the trial operation is conducted for the farmers in areas without electricity to utilize solar energy systems for cotton grinding process. He stressed that record will be access during the practical process.

He urged the farmers to independently carry out cotton milling operations for earning increased incomes and improvements in their socio-economic conditions, along with the increased job opportunities.

The two cotton milling machines currently in operation are the Bajaj brand facilities from India, and can process over 600 viss of cotton per day. The trial operation is being carried out with the use of 7.5 Kilowatt Hybrid Inverter, installed by 14 solar panels, each with 665 watts capacity.
