Coronavirus Prevention: Meeting On Plan For Measures At IDP Camps

Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement on Tuesday held a coordination meeting to draw a plan for prevention, control and treatment of Coronavirus infection at IDP camps.

Union Minister Dr. Win Myat Aye stressed that the plan was to quickly respond to the possible COVID-19 infection at the IDP camps. It’s important to disseminate knowledge on prevention and control the Coronavirus infection not only to those living at the IDP camps but also for those taking administrative duty at the camps, he added.

The Union Minister also highlighted the need to be ready for quarantine process to suspected patients and to provide health care services.

The meeting also discussed management for receiving and distribution of sanitary things, medicines and medical equipments at the IDP camps. Data in January, 2020 shows there are 128 IDP camps with a total population of 184,333 in 24 townships of Kachin, Kayin, Shan and Rakhine states.
