Coronavirus Precautions: Disinfectant Spraying Conducted At Highway Bus Station In Mandalay

As part of response measures against COVID-19, activities for prevention of the disease are being conducted at the highway bus terminals in Mandalay.

Precautionary measure such as antibacterial spraying is being performed at Pyay Gyi Myet Shin bus station in Mandalay and washing basins are arranged for the people for public awareness of the disease.

Chairman, Mandalay Region Highway Bus Line Supervisory Committee, Aung Kyaw Linn said “We spray disinfectant instructed by the City Development Committee at the bus terminal compound. The smell is not bad and so, we can stay here. Due to the activity, we can prevent from the virus. We have a plan to perform antibacterial spraying on the buses and vehicles for one hour in advance before starting run. Now, we have disinfectants on hand and we will continue to perform this activity.”

An official from Pyay Gyi Myet Shin Bus Station Maintenance and Beautifying Committee said spraying of disinfectant in the bus station compound will support for the prevention of coronavirus on the other hand.

Chairman, Pyay Gyi Myet Shin Bus Station beautifying Committee, Tin Maung Soe said “We perform collectively spraying disinfectant in the bus terminal compound. People are panic on the COVID-19 disease and we hear a lot of rumor and disinformation on the disease. We have arranged wash basins in cooperation with the Development Affairs Committee.”

Chit Phuu Wai said “The activity on disinfectant spraying in the bus stations is great as people are travelling. The hand gels are also arranged here. All people are responsible for personal hygiene and we need to wash hands.”

For the preventive measures against COVID-19, disinfectant spraying is being conducted in the bus terminal compounds in Mandalay and washing basins and hand soaps are arranged there in line with the instructions of the Ministry of Health and Sports.
