Bangladesh delegation to COP29 made a briefing point with the press about the state of the negotiations, and about other questions related to climate change and the measures to be taken. During the press point, the delegation was also asked to reply about the implementation of the ban of plastic bags made of polyethene.

The advisor to the Ministry of Environment Forest, and Climate Change and water resources of Bangladesh replied that the ban was initially introduced already in 2006, but since then was never seriously implemented.

Now the government relaunch this obligation and will put in place measures to obtain the respect of the ban, while -at the same time- will try to answers to the needs of those that are paying the price of this transition.
